About the Teacher

Heidi is a Nationally Certified Music Teacher who began piano lessons at the age of eight with Lillian Crockett in California. She earned a B.A. in Piano Performance from Seattle Pacific University, where she was recipient of the Bertha Gilbertson Music Scholarship and graduated with honors. While earning her degree she studied with Dr. Robert Swan, Dr. Wayne Johnson, and Dr. Myrna Capp.

In addition to piano performance and education, her experience includes harpsichord, organ, group teaching, music theory, and music history. Heidi currently studies piano with Dr. Walden Hughes of Northwest Nazarene University and is an organist at Epworth Chapel on the Green in Boise.

Heidi serves on the executive board of the Idaho Music Teachers Association and is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and the Nampa Musicale. She presented at the 2005 MTNA National Conference and the 2006 Idaho MTA State Conference, and has adjudicated piano festivals and competitions. Her students include college scholarship recipients and professional piano teachers.
